Style.com speaks on D&G Spring 2013 Collection
Dolce and Gabbana didn't just cop the attitude of a sexy widow or pinstriped snappy dresser, they imported a village, lock, stock, and old stone wall. Or at least that's what it felt like. A list of the "protagonists" showed that the cast, nearly all of them non-models, were actually drawn from a number of Sicilian towns and villages, but it still felt like you were watching generations of one tight community marching with proud gravity down the catwalk to a tune of a traditional village band. The Canten brothers made a dent into history with leather oversized carry on bags, pea-coats, military inspired pants, and layering of all kinds. These looks can make a smart school boy evolve into a tough and rugged bad boy of the streets. There's nothing better then becoming fashionably smart.
There was nothing about this line that these two haven't done before, but there is something different about the more slender silhouettes they achieved for the new generation of geek chic men of today. Being in an era where men's fashion is blooming, Dean and Dan know how to cater to the male species.
Dsquared² is more then just a fashion line, it's inspiration for this generation to achieve a look of sophistication, with edge. When you wear something from any of their previous to current pieces of clothing, you have a sense of becoming a walking fashion story.
